The music on “Positively Chilly” was originally
released on vinyl records as two separate albums. “Chilly Wind” was released
around 1987. “Positively James Street” was released around 1989 and originally
was released as a “Speedboys” album. I have combined music from the two albums
and released it as an album available only via digital download. I have left off
three songs that were on the original albums in order to fit on one cd.

August 23, 2007 UPDATE: The gig opening for Roy Book Binder was fantastic. We were well received by the audience, had a great time listening to Roy and were treated like royalty by Pat & Dolores who produced the show. Here is a photo of MR & MRS BOBBY from the gig taken by Chad Casterline.

The brand new Robert Bobby album "Today" should do away once and for all with that of "One of the best singer/songwriters you've never heard of" stamp that he has been carrying around for decades. Ever since we were first introduced (see review May 2005), this man from Philadelphia has been revered by the undersigned and his song "Lucinda Williams" is on my list of Best Songs of All Times. With the thirteen songs on "Today" - 'All Songs Radio Friendly, No Bad Words' - Joe Milsom aka Robert Bobby has produced one of the first musical highlights of 2007. Hopefully this will be the long overdue breakthrough for the man who once founded the Speedboys (albums "That's What I Like" and "Look What Love's Done To Me Now" '82/'83). In the meantime, Robert Bobby has created a number of magnificent solo albums that are still available at CD Baby. (

Robert Bobby remained true to the regular concepts that are so typical for him … something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue! The songs "Secret Of The Heart" and "Little Bit Nasty" date back to his Speedboys period and have been given a beautiful acoustic arrangement for the occasion; the same for the Supremes hit "Stop in the Name of Love"; and the things he does to A.F. Beddoe's "Copper Kettle" are blatantly brilliant, it stands supreme over Bob Dylan’s version. "Feel So Blue" (bluesy love lost song featuring fine lap steel guitar) is a true gem and will undoubtedly end up on my list of favorites. With the mandolin and the dobro "Sweet Potato Wine" has a great old timey feel. "Older Than Old & In the Way" is a funny story arranged in new grass style and Robert has the right musical answer to the question "How do you live with a broken heart "... "Ask a Man who Owns One" (lap steel!). People who like 'La Dolce Vita' will melt when they hear the fabulous acoustic "Dance". It will turn the likes of Joe Ely and Willy DeVille turn green with jealousy. And with the movie soundtrack "Hearts & Diamonds", "Love Drunk" and "Spend a Little Nighttime" Robert Bobby proves that he belongs up there with John Prine, Dylan, Steve Young, ... musically, 2007 could not have started better!
