House Concerts on Hiatus

Due to Mr. Bobby's passing in March 2018, Mrs. Bobby regrets that Robert Bobby's Basement will not be scheduling any more house concerts until further notice.  Thank you, performers, fans and audience for your understanding.

Our currently scheduled next house concert will be Friday, April 8th featuring Daniel Boling.

Sharing experiences from a life well-lived in places as far ranging as Okinawa, Japan, and Padre Island, Texas, this balladeer/songwriter with the friendly tenor brings his well-crafted story songs to audiences coast-to-coast and in Europe in over one hundred shows a year, from house concerts to festivals (Kerrville, Winfield, Woody Guthrie and others). Born into a traveling Air Force family, he later worked as a National Park Ranger -- yes, the gun-toting kind -- and as a Criminal Investigator for the US Bureau of Land Management, and he started touring at 50, when most guys are planning their retirement. He’s got six albums, including the new Sleeping Dogs, produced by Jono Manson and released in September 2013 on Berkalin Records [Download the DJ One-sheet].

Doors open at 7:00 show starts at 7:30     Suggested donation is $15 per person. Short opening set by The Robert Bobby Duo. BYOB or drink ours.

ROBERT BOBBY'S BASEMENT

2/7/18 Due to Mr. Bobby's illness,  we are no longer booking shows for Robert Bobby's basement.

We host the occasional house concert in our basement with particular emphasis on singer/songwriters who have a way with words.  I also put a premium on performance and an ability to engage an audience.  Being a performer myself, I tend to host folks that I have met at various Folk Alliance conferences or people whose music I love.

We can seat about 30 people comfortably.  A house concert is exactly as it says, a concert in someone's house.  It is not a party per se, though plenty of fun is to be expected.  Also to be expected is a listening audience.  It is BYOB and a suggested donation is collected that goes to the performer.  In short, our house concert is an opportunity to experience a great performance in an intimate setting you might not experience anywhere else.

Because of the responsibility I feel for facilitating a great audience for each performer, I really appreciate advance notice that you plan to attend the concert.  We hope to see you at a future show.

Michael Smith (yes of The Dutchman fame) thrice
